Taylor frustrated by Exeter's international absences

Exeter City manager Matt Taylor is unhappy with his team playing a League Two fixture at Bristol Rovers without two international players. Full-back Vincent Harper has been called up by Kenya and defender Ed James has been picked for the Wales Under-21 squad. Both players will miss Exeter's upcoming matches, starting with the trip to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Taylor acknowledges that Leagues One and Two are still playing during the extended international break, but under EFL rules, a team can only have a game postponed if three or more players are away on international duty. Taylor says Harper and James are two standout players and starting players for Exeter, and their absence will require the team to re-arrange their lineup.

Exeter has struggled in their recent matches, failing to win any of their last five League Two games and scoring only two goals in that period. Taylor believes the league should have a week without fixtures to address the imbalance caused by international call-ups, but also recognizes the potential disruption to the squad if games are moved.
