Singapore police investigate video of man allegedly following, recording schoolgirls with smart glasses

Singapore police are investigating a video showing a man allegedly following and recording two female students with his smart glasses, sparking safety concerns. The video, initially posted to Reddit by user BBlackjack160, depicts a bespectacled man in a grey shirt and black shorts tailing the two girls in school uniform through a temporary sheltered walkway.

The girls appear unaware of the man's presence as he approaches and makes a U-turn. The man is seen wearing a mask and holding his phone to his chest, pressing what seems like a button on his black-rimmed smart glasses. He then walks in the opposite direction of the girls and the person filming him.

Although the video has been removed from Reddit, several Redditors commented on the suspicious nature of the man's actions. Several users recognized him and claimed to have seen him around various locations, including Junction 8 and Marymount MRT station. One Redditor stated that the man had approached her at Raffles Junior College, asking her to complete a survey with random and bizarre questions.

Another user mentioned that they had previously reported the man to the police, but investigations were not possible because he had the right to be in a public area.

Despite the lack of action taken by the police in the past, the girls' uniform in the video resembles that of Raffles Institution students. The police have confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are currently underway.
