SI, driver injured as fish-laden lorry collides with police patrol vehicle on Khammam-Warangal highway

A Sub-Inspector of police and his driver sustained injuries when a fish-laden lorry crashed head-on into their patrol vehicle on the Khammam-Warangal highway in Khammam district, India. The injured individuals, identified as K. Jagadish and Rakesh, were immediately taken to a hospital in Khammam for medical attention. According to the police, the lorry was en route from Akividu in West Godavari district to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, carrying a shipment of fish.

Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt paid a visit to the injured at the hospital, inquiring about their well-being. While the SI's condition was reported as stable, Rakesh was subsequently transferred to a super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad for more comprehensive treatment. A case has been filed against the lorry driver, Shaik Rasool, for alleged rash and negligent driving. Ongoing investigations are being conducted to further probe the incident.
