#SHOWBIZ: 'Kaleidoscope VIII' returns with global beats, free shows, and masterclasses

Kuala Lumpur: Drumming festival Kaleidoscope is set to return for its eighth edition, Kaleidoscope VIII Infinite Beats, from September 29 to October 4 at Sunway Square, Subang Jaya. Presented in collaboration with the Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre, the six-day event brings together artists from Malaysia, Japan, Venezuela, Cuba, and the United States to showcase a diverse range of percussion styles and masterclasses.

Featuring performances by Hands Percussion, Seppuku Pistols, La Tribu, Juan Carlos Allende, Steve Thornton, Akademi Seni Putera Selangor, and The Pulse Quartet, the festival will host four grand concerts at the Grand Theatre, JCPAC on October 2, 3, and 4, with tickets priced at RM98. Additionally, the festival will include free pocket shows, community drum circles, and various workshops, making it accessible to all.

The lineup will also include three new compositions by Hands Percussion's composers, as well as special appearances by YMCA Deafbeat and the Malaysian Foundation of the Deaf. Kaleidoscope VIII Infinite Beats aims to celebrate the unifying power of rhythm and explore its role in a rapidly evolving world.
