Seidu Agongo launches initiative to distribute 10,000 sewing machines to vulnerable women and youth

Alhaji Seidu Agongo, a prominent businessman and philanthropist, is set to distribute 10,000 sewing machines to women and vulnerable youth across Ghana. This initiative, in partnership with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), aims to provide beneficiaries with employable skills, promote entrepreneurship, and enhance livelihoods.

The program targets school dropouts, widows, orphans, and other socially disadvantaged individuals who often face economic hardship and limited employment opportunities. Alhaji Agongo, founder of the collapsed Heritage Bank, has witnessed firsthand the struggles of many underprivileged families and vulnerable individuals during his travels across the country.

He believes that the initiative will help transform the fortunes of many disadvantaged Ghanaians by providing them with the necessary support and tools to break free from poverty and build sustainable livelihoods. The sewing machine initiative follows a long list of philanthropic interventions by Alhaji Agongo, including support for flood victims, healthcare facilities, schools, and education for underprivileged children.

As a Muslim, Alhaji Agongo sees philanthropy as both a social responsibility and a religious obligation, emphasizing that giving is a duty and a humane thing to do.
