Reaching Speeds Of 416 Km/h: Ukraine Successfully Tests New “Zorelit v5” Interceptor Drone

Ukrainian company Vluchnyk has completed testing of its new anti-aircraft interceptor drone, the Zorelit v5. Designed to combat high-speed aerial targets, particularly jet-powered strike UAVs, the drone has demonstrated its capabilities and is now prepared for delivery to military units. Vluchnyk announced the successful test to Militarnyi, with UATV English relaying the information.

The Zorelit v5 boasts a maximum speed of 416 km/h and a flight range of up to 47 km on a single charge. It can stay airborne for approximately 17 minutes at a cruising speed of around 200 km/h. The interceptor is capable of carrying a warhead weighing between 300 and 600 grams. The drone is intended to target Russian reconnaissance UAVs, including Gerbera and Geran-2, as well as high-speed jet-powered Geran-3 and Geran-4 drones.

After passing a full cycle of testing, Vluchnyk is open to direct contracts with military units. The interceptor can also be equipped with an AI-based system for automatic target detection, tracking, and guidance during the final stage of flight. Integration with the SkyMap system is planned, allowing the drone to be automatically directed toward the target area.

Based on the previous version, Zorelit v4, the Zorelit v5 has already been utilized in combat conditions and was adopted into service, receiving a NATO Stock Number (NSN). The price of one Zorelit v5 is listed at 89,500 hryvnias on the manufacturer's website.
