Radaj delivers as kicker for Blugold football team

UW-Eau Claire's Connor Radaj delivered with his kicking abilities in the team's season opener against Alma College. The 23-15 victory secured Radaj the title of WIAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Radaj, a senior and 6-foot-3 kicker, nailed three field goals, including a career-best 48-yarder just before halftime. UWEC head coach Rob Erickson praised Radaj's performance, noting that his 48-yard kick was crucial to securing the lead.

Radaj's journey to the NFL has not been without challenges, including a hip flexor strain that sidelined him for three weeks before the season opener. Despite this setback, Radaj returned and has been a standout performer so far this season, converting 6 of 7 field goal attempts and scoring 11 extra points in the first three games.

Radaj's improved work ethic and determination have paid off, leading him to believe he can help turn around UW-Eau Claire's fortunes this fall. The Blugolds are currently 3-0 with conference play set to begin next week. Radaj credits his head coach, Erickson, for his confidence and support both on and off the field, adding that his academic pursuits and strong relationships with teammates and coaches have made his college experience exceptional.
