QF’s QIYADA Conference supports young people to become creators of ideas

Doha, Qatar - Qatar Foundation's QIYADA conference offers a unique opportunity for Muslim youth in Qatar to explore and develop their potential as creators of ideas, rooted in faith and modern values. The second edition of the conference, themed 'Guided by Faith: Thriving in a Changing World', will take place on September 25-26 at the Multaqa (Education City Student Center).

Prominent speakers include Dr Omar Suleiman, a scholar and human rights activist; Dr Hanan Ahmed Al-Qattan, founder of the Etizan Center for Psychological, Educational, and Sharia Consultation and Training; Amjad Al-Nour, a Sudanese filmmaker and journalist; and Fedaa Al-Deen Yahya, a Yemeni social media influencer and blogger.

The conference aims to equip young Muslims with leadership skills, foster connections with influential figures and innovators, expand their intellectual horizons, and inspire them to transform their ideas into meaningful contributions to society. Abu Zaid Tunkara, a QIYADA ambassador and Grade 12 student, emphasized that the conference bridges theory and practice through interactive workshops that cultivate critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

Tunkara highlighted the importance of religious education in building intellectual resilience and understanding of one's identity, stating that knowledge grounded in both rational and scriptural evidence serves as a shield against the overwhelming ideas of today's youth. He also praised poetry as a powerful tool for connecting young people with cultural and religious values, describing it as an educational and cultural medium capable of touching hearts and reaching the depths of the human spirit.
