Privacy Display on the Galaxy S27 Ultra could pick up this handy new trick

Prominent leaker Ice Universe has claimed that the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra from Samsung will introduce a split-screen Privacy Display feature, similar to what is seen on the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. This feature has the ability to dim just one app window in a split-screen view, even when it's resized. While Xiaomi seems to have more features attached to this privacy function, the leaker suggests that Samsung holds the upper hand in overall dimming capacity.

Samsung has set the industry standard with the introduction of Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, enabling hardware-level screen dimming to shield against shoulder surfers. Although some brands have already unveiled their versions of this feature, the newly announced Xiaomi 18 Pro series takes it to a new level with Smart Privacy Display.

Now, it appears that Samsung may incorporate at least one of the Xiaomi flagship's privacy-focused features in its early 2027 device. Leaker Ice Universe shared on X that the Xiaomi 18 Pro's unique split-screen privacy protection system will be integrated into the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This split-screen privacy mechanism cleverly dims only one app, while the other remains visible in its normal state as you resize it.
