Police seal suspected adulterated drinks factory in Lagos, arrest 48-year-old man

The Lagos State Police Command has dismantled an illegal factory suspected of manufacturing and packaging counterfeit alcoholic beverages in Badagry. A 48-year-old man, Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was apprehended in connection with the operation. The arrest was prompted by information provided by the public, leading to the operation against the facility in Yafin, Badagry, according to the command's spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi.

Items seized from the premises included suspected adulterated drinks, empty bottles, wine labels, and production equipment used in the manufacturing and packaging process. The police sealed the facility following the discovery and took Hilary into custody for questioning. These items were transferred to the police station for further investigation.

Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, praised the officers for their swift action on the information received and emphasized the command's commitment to conducting intelligence-driven operations to combat criminal activities across Lagos. He also urged residents to provide timely and credible information on suspected criminal activities to assist the police.
