O'Leary (Ryanair): "Aena nos incentiva a crecer solo en grandes aeropuertos"

Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary has stated that the airline is likely to assign new aircraft to Spain and will continue to focus on expanding its operations at major airports like Madrid, Barcelona, Palma and Málaga. The airline supports Aena's decision to grow through regulated investments in major airports, but will continue to cut back on its low-cost capacity at regional airports.

O'Leary expressed satisfaction with the Dora III outcome, which allows for regulated investments in airport infrastructure between 2027 and 2031. He emphasized that Ryanair's policy favors growing in larger, more expensive airports rather than investing in smaller, vacant ones. The CEO also highlighted the need for significant tariff reductions at regional airports, which he considers overpriced compared to airports in other countries.
