'No anti-incumbency for BJP, Modi': Rahul Gandhi intensifies attack on CEC Gyanesh Kumar amid row

The BJP swiftly responded to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's criticism of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, asserting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process as legally robust and decisions based on majority consensus. Sudhanshu Trivedi, a BJP spokesperson, defended the Election Commission's actions, questioning the basis of Gandhi's claims without any direct quotes from Election Commissioners.

Trivedi also addressed the Congress leader's assertion of anti-incumbency against the BJP, attributing it to the Congress party and the Gandhi family, who have held power for decades. He further criticized the Congress for their inability to return to power in various states post-Independence, attributing it to the lack of transparency in elections and the presence of security forces.

Trivedi reiterated the legal authority of the Commission to conduct SIR and challenged the Congress to explain their involvement in the selection process for Election Commissioners in various states.
