NEET-UG paper leak: NTA withholds coaching centre owner’s son result, bars him from 2027 exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has prohibited Aditya Motegaonkar, son of Latur-based coaching centre owner Shivraj Motegaonkar, from appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG) for two years. Motegaonkar, who was arrested in the recent NEET-UG paper leak case, remains in judicial custody. The NTA has withheld his result from the examination conducted earlier this year and declared him ineligible to sit for NEET-UG 2027, as per their September 19 communication.

According to the CBI, Shivraj Motegaonkar reportedly paid ₹5 lakh to procure chemistry questions from P.V. Kulkarni, a member of the NTA panel that set the questions for the examination. Aditya attended Kulkarni's coaching classes where he obtained the questions. Following the NEET-UG retest on June 21, the NTA placed Aditya's result on hold, requesting an explanation regarding the alleged irregularities.

He denied using unfair means during the examination and questioned why his result in the subsequent retest was withheld. The NEET-UG, a crucial exam for medical aspirants, was cancelled on May 12 due to allegations of paper leak. A re-examination was held on June 21. The CBI has recently submitted its final report on criminal cases arising from paper leaks and the use of unfair means in public examinations.
