My first MMO character #4: Lincoln Carpenter

My first MMO character was Maldirr, an Orc Warrior born around 2005. I first delved into MMOs through a RuneScape account, which was later hacked, and a Trandoshan force-sensitive in Star Wars Galaxies. My fascination with MMOs truly began with World of Warcraft (WoW), after watching cinematic raid clear videos on WarcraftMovies.com and becoming captivated by legendary weapon names found on Thottbot.

After convincing my parents to purchase a WoW subscription, I aimed to create an Orc hunter, but accidentally rolled a warrior instead. I didn't notice the mistake until I realized the character lacked a bow. Undeterred, I persisted with Maldirr as my primary WoW character for several years, engaging in casual Arms DPS rotations across four expansions.

Over time, my interest shifted to other classes, including a Worgen rogue, undead mage, and eventually a dwarf shaman, which receives the most attention during occasional subscription renewals. Whenever the WoW bug resurfaces, I still dedicate some time to leveling Maldirr out of nostalgia. His appearance has evolved slightly, with his hair color transitioning from brown to gray, but he continues to sport the Stone Guard tabard he earned from countless hours in Alterac Valley, a place he'd choose to spend his time in again.
