The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has opened calls for submissions to the SheRhythms Festival, Ghana's leading all-female music event. This year's edition, themed "Amplifying Her Voice, Elevating Her Art," is scheduled for December 11th and 12th, 2026 at the Alliance Française in Accra. The festival, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Creative Arts Agency, Alliance Française Accra, and supported by Benayacom, will commence with a professional masterclass at the Music Department of the University of Ghana, Legon, on December 10th.
The masterclass will focus on performance excellence, music business fundamentals, and brand development for female artists. MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons, emphasized that SheRhythms is about providing a platform for women to showcase their talents, enhance their skills, and network with peers and industry leaders. The festival also invites international artists to participate.
Abena Ruthy, MUSIGA's 2nd Vice President, highlighted that the festival aims to give every female musician in Ghana the opportunity to perform on stage, grow her craft, and connect with career opportunities. Female musicians interested in performing at SheRhythms are urged to submit their applications before the October 30, 2026 deadline, with application forms and additional information available on MUSIGA's website and social media channels.
