Mizoram Designer Hannah Khiangte Named ELLE Fashion Voice Of The Year 2026; Says, 'I Want To Dedicate This Award To The Zo Community'

Mizoram fashion designer Hannah Khiangte was awarded ELLE Fashion Voice of the Year 2026 at the ELLE Style Awards in New Delhi on September 22, 2026. The ELLE Style Awards, an annual event hosted by Elle magazine, recognize excellence in fashion, culture, film, and design. This was Khiangte's third appearance at the awards ceremony, which took place at The Leela Palace in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Khiangte is celebrated for her innovative approach to traditional Mizo handwoven fabric, the puan. She launched her own label in 2013 with the goal of preserving indigenous Zo crafts and textiles by transforming them into contemporary, high-fashion wearable art. Her designs have been favorably received by numerous celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon.
