Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar meets Akshitarani’s parents, assures government support

The State government of Kerala plans to lift the construction ban in Idukki district, announced Revenue Minister A.P. Anilkumar on Thursday. Speaking at a media briefing in Cheruthoni, Anilkumar said the government will remove obstacles related to tree cutting on farmers' title deed lands. He also mentioned steps to renew cardamom leases before September 30.

Anilkumar urged revenue officials to treat people with respect when addressing land grievances. The minister inaugurated a district-level title deed distribution event in Cheruthoni, where nearly 7,000 title deeds have been given out state-wide as part of a 100-day action plan. Once the Palakkad district event wraps up, the total distributed deeds are expected to exceed 10,000.

Anilkumar assured that all eligible beneficiaries in the state will receive their title deeds promptly. He also unveiled plans to establish a township at Painavu near Cheruthoni. At the event, 683 title deeds were distributed, with government officials including Chief Whip Apu John Joseph, Idukki MP Dean Kuriakose, and MLAs in attendance.

Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan is set to visit Idukki on Friday to address local land issues, alongside Forest and Food and Civil Supplies Ministers.
