Man in his 50s suffers cardiac arrest at Zouk, Good Samaritan steps in to perform CPR

A man in his 50s experienced a cardiac arrest at the nightclub Zouk on September 19. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan in the crowd performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him. The incident was first reported by one of the man's friends on Instagram, who stated that the man had suffered a cardiac arrest 26 years ago and had experienced symptoms but no warning signs prior to this collapse.

The man had attended a party at Simply Retro CHIJMES the night before before heading to Zouk. After collapsing, a Good Samaritan in the crowd stepped in and performed CPR, which ultimately saved his life. An ambulance took the man to the hospital, where he was resuscitated using an automated external defibrillator (AED) and later had a flatline again.

Medical tests revealed that the man's heart had stopped due to an irregular rhythm, and he was due to receive a defibrillator implant. The Good Samaritan, who is a member of Samaritans of Singapore, had contacted the man in the hospital and was thanked by him for performing CPR.
