MAN canvasses industrial policy implementation

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) is urging the National Industrial Policy 2025 to transition from aspirations to measurable industrial outcomes as it prepares for its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos. MAN President Francis Meshioye made the call during a media briefing ahead of the three-day event scheduled for October 5th to 7th, 2026.

The policy aims to position Nigeria as Africa's industrial hub. Meshioye emphasized that manufacturing is crucial for job creation, innovation, and economic growth. Despite high production and energy costs, limited access to finance, and infrastructure challenges, Nigerian manufacturers have shown resilience. MAN advocates for macroeconomic stability, improved infrastructure, affordable financing, a stable foreign exchange, and a predictable regulatory environment.

The association has collaborated with the government on tax policy implementation and the evolving tax framework. MAN welcomes the renewed emphasis on industrialization and indigenous entrepreneurship in the policy, but stresses that effective implementation is key. The AGM will serve as a platform to discuss how the policy can deliver tangible results, with a focus on measurable industrial outcomes.
