Man befriends girl online, rapes her at Delhi hotel

A young girl befriended a man on social media, leading to her being raped inside a hotel in Outer Delhi, according to police officials. The identity of the accused remains unknown. The girl and the accused reportedly met online several months prior to the incident. On the fateful day, the accused allegedly convinced the girl to meet him at a hotel, claiming it was a friendship meet-up.

The police officer confirmed that the accused then forcibly assaulted the girl inside the hotel. Following the traumatic event, the girl informed her parents, who promptly reported the matter to the police. A case under the POCSO Act was subsequently filed. The police are actively searching for the accused, reviewing CCTV footage near the hotel, and questioning the hotel owner about the minor's unauthorized entry.

They are also examining the hotel's logbook. This incident follows a recent gangrape of a 17-year-old girl in a park by three men posing as police officers. In the past month, at least five rape cases involving children and teenagers have been reported in the capital. These include a 16-year-old girl who was gangraped and stabbed to death by her friend and three others in Outer North Delhi.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped on a sleeper bus traveling from Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh to Noida, without any police checks during the journey. All accused in these cases have been apprehended.
