‘Madden’ Trailer: Boom! Nicolas Cage Transforms In David O. Russell’s Biopic Of NFL Icon

David O. Russell's latest sports drama, "Madden," is a biopic chronicling the life of legendary coach and sportscaster John Madden, played by Nicolas Cage. The film delves into the perils of Madden's relentless work ethic, which ultimately led to an ulcer diagnosis and a reevaluation of his career. Supported by his wife, Virginia, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn, Madden faces tough criticism from former Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis, played by Christian Bale.

The trailer highlights the intense atmosphere surrounding the film, with Bale delivering his signature snarky Northeastern American tough-guy persona.

Shane Gillis makes an appearance in the trailer, adding to the ensemble cast of "Madden." However, the story takes a positive turn when we witness John Mulaney, as EA founder Trip Hawkins, pitching Madden the future video game franchise that bears his name. Mulaney, clad in a Steve Jobs-esque black turtleneck, passionately declares, "This is it!

This is the future!" as pixelated football players dance across a digital gridiron. While we've seen glimpses of this future, it appears to be filled with empty Red Bull cans, cashed bongs, and buffalo wing delivery.

Ultimately, Madden's mission remains the same: to create the best video game possible. "Madden" opens in select theaters on November 11 and premieres on Prime Video on November 18. Viewers can catch a sneak peek of the film's trailer below.
