Luke Williams appointed Head Coach of Mumbai Indians for the WPL

Mumbai Indians have announced that Lisa Keightley will be stepping down as Head Coach ahead of the 2027 Women’s Premier League season. Luke Williams will take over as her successor. Nita M. Ambani expressed her delight at welcoming Luke to the Mumbai Indians family. She praised his proven winning record, deep understanding of the women's game, and commitment to player development.

Mrs. Ambani expressed confidence that under Luke's guidance, along with Harmanpreet Kaur's leadership, the team will continue to grow and achieve success. Mrs. Ambani also thanked Lisa Keightley for her contributions to the team and wished her well in the future. Luke Williams, a former first-class cricketer for South Australia, boasts a successful track record in women's cricket.

He has been part of title-winning teams in the Women's Big Bash League in Australia (2022, 2023), The Hundred in England (2023 as Assistant Coach), and the Women’s Premier League in India (2024). Luke Williams expressed his excitement about joining Mumbai Indians, a respected and successful organization, and working with the talented team.

He looks forward to building something together, playing exciting cricket, and competing for success. Luke Williams, a three-time recipient of the Bradman Medal for grade cricket, has spent two decades coaching in Australia, England, and India, including as Assistant Coach for England's Women's Team since 2025.
