Late Gakpo equaliser earns Dutch 1-1 draw against Germany to spoil Klopp debut
In a thrilling Nations League Group A2 opener, Cody Gakpo's stoppage-time equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for the Netherlands against Germany on Thursday. New coach Xavi Hernandez, appointed in August following Ronald Koeman's departure, could not secure a win as Germany looked poised for victory early on. However, Gakpo's late strike provided the Dutch with a much-needed point. Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp admitted he was pleased with the team's passion but acknowledged there was room for improvement.
