JS Bank wins ESG Award for Community Health Outreach Programme

KARACHI - JS Bank has been honored with the ESG Award for its commendable Community Health Outreach Programme, as announced at the ESG Business Awards. The award acknowledges the bank's dedication to providing quality healthcare to underserved communities in Pakistan through three key initiatives. These include primary and maternal healthcare in remote areas, specialized free treatment for chronic and reproductive health issues, and health awareness programs at the grassroots level.

The bank's flagship project, Jahangir Siddiqui Hospital in Sehwan, is a joint effort with Indus Hospital and Health Network and has been instrumental in the hospital's recovery after the 2022 floods. Additionally, JS Bank has supported the Uro Gynae Clinic, offering free treatments for urological and gynaecological conditions to over 900 patients in 2025, and has been a consistent supporter of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) by providing free specialist care in nephrology, cancer, and organ transplantation.

The bank's partnership with PinkDetect has also extended breast cancer awareness to remote communities in Tharparkar, reaching 188 women in four villages during 2025. Furthermore, 294 children received free clubfoot corrective surgery and six months of post-operative care through NJ Welfare Trust. JS Bank's President and CEO, Basir Shamsie, expressed the bank's commitment to addressing social and moral obligations by tackling challenges at the grassroots level, particularly in improving access to quality healthcare in underserved regions.
