JPPM gantung PN, beri tempoh jelas aduan Bersatu

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, currently in a suspended state rather than cancelled, has been given a reasonable amount of time by the Malaysian Societies Registration Board (JPPM) to explain an alleged complaint against Bersatu. JPPM stated that this notice, issued in accordance with Section 13(2) of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 832), is intended to request PN to provide clarification on the complaint reported by Bersatu.

The notice is not a decision to cancel PN's registration, according to the statement. JPPM emphasized that all PN activities are suspended as of September 23, concurrent with Section 13(2A) of Act 832. The suspension aims to ensure the integrity of the organization's membership. In June, PAS suspended its political cooperation with Bersatu, and the Wawasan opposition party, led by former Deputy Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, subsequently joined PN.

PN also formed a coalition with Barisan Nasional (BN) in Negeri Sembilan, a move allegedly conducted by Bersatu unilaterally. PAS President Hadi Awang has claimed that Bersatu's automatic withdrawal from PN's coalition occurred following his announcement of forming a new alliance, but Bersatu disputes this claim.
