Jazz Joins Forces with DIGIT and UNISOC to Bring Affordable 5G Devices to Pakistan

Leading Pakistani telecom company Jazz has teamed up with DIGIT and UNISOC to bring more affordable 5G devices to the market in Pakistan. This partnership combines Jazz's extensive connectivity ecosystem and reach with DIGIT's device knowledge and insight into local consumers, as well as UNISOC's expertise in semiconductor technology and 5G platforms.

The collaboration will launch two initial products: a 5G MiFi device and a smartphone equipped with UNISOC technology. These affordable devices aim to make next-generation connectivity more accessible, enabling faster and more reliable mobile experiences for users in areas such as communication, entertainment, education, work, and digital services.

Asad Maqbool, Head of Jazz Consumer Growth, emphasized the importance of making 5G devices affordable to ensure widespread adoption. DIGIT CEO Abdul Rehman Mahmood highlighted the focus on delivering reliable, high-quality devices that meet consumer needs. UNISOC's General Manager, Xian Miao, noted the significance of the collaboration in bringing 5G technology to more consumers in Pakistan.

The 5G MiFi will offer portable high-speed mobile broadband, while the smartphone will serve as an accessible entry point to 5G services. This partnership reflects the critical role of collaboration among network providers, device manufacturers, and semiconductor companies in expanding 5G adoption in Pakistan. Further opportunities in 5G smartphones, mobile broadband products, and other connected solutions are also being explored. Commercial details for these devices will be revealed in due course.
