Jared Goff: I love it when the vultures come out

The first two weeks of the Lions' season have not exuded the image of a team performing at their peak. After relinquishing a 21-0 advantage to the Saints in Week 1, the Lions battled back with a win in overtime. In Week 2, they were outscored by 21 points in a 41-31 defeat against the Bills. This has sparked questions about the team's capacity to compete at a high level this season.

However, quarterback Jared Goff finds solace in the fact that such struggles will unearth the team's best qualities. "I'm excited to get back home and play in front of our fans for sure, but you love when the vultures start coming out," Goff remarked. "Guys' character really emerges and I know our guys in this locker room and you can see those guys stand tall and be who they are.

Stand in the fire, take the shots and fight right through it." Despite the challenges, Goff maintains that the team is in a strong position. A victory over the Jets on Sunday would appease any concerns, but a loss might make the team less confident as they gear up for October.
