Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed China and the US's relationship during his arrival in Washington. He advocated for a partnership between the two countries rather than a rivalry, emphasizing their potential to coexist harmoniously in the new era. Xi proposed that China and the US should focus on stability, cooperation, and managing competition and differences.

He noted that the interests of the two nations are intertwined, suggesting that China’s resurgence and US President Donald Trump’s aim to make America great again could complement each other for global benefit.

Additionally, Pakistan announced airstrikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan, claiming they were used for launching drone attacks against Pakistan. Pakistan's Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, stated that the strikes were deliberate, precise, and proportionate, targeting military sites. However, Kabul has not yet responded, while the Taliban spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, denied any Afghan forces had attacked Pakistan, as reported by the Associated Press.

These strikes follow Pakistan's previous airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan, which Islamabad claimed targeted militant hideouts and Kabul stated resulted in civilian casualties. The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group experienced eight suicide attempts during its deployment in the Middle East. Acting US Navy Secretary Hung Cao revealed this in a letter to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, detailing the sailors involved in the attempts.

Cao also mentioned five chaplains and several mental health professionals aboard, along with temporary issues with plumbing, water desalination, and food supplies, but denied reports of a broader mental health crisis on the carrier.
