I won’t revenge injustice or injury done to me – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared his resolve not to seek vengeance for any injustice or injury caused to him by individuals who supported him in the past. El-Rufai emphasized that his primary focus is on maintaining peace with his conscience, asserting that judgment is solely in the hands of God. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has currently detained El-Rufai following a petition accusing him of corruption, misuse of office, and money laundering during his tenure as governor. The ICPC maintains the former governor in detention under a court remand order.

In a piece titled ‘My Relationships and the Aftermath’, El-Rufai shared his thoughts on the matter, stating, “As for any injustice, ingratitude or injury done to me, I seek neither revenge nor retribution.” He further noted that ultimate accountability lies with Almighty Allah, and he entrusts the judgment to Him, both in this world and the Hereafter.

Ultimately, El-Rufai believes that each person must live with the consequences of their own choices, and posterity will deliver whatever verdict they deem appropriate. His sole concern, he insisted, is to remain at peace with his conscience and, above all, with Almighty Allah.
