GNFS honours two officers for bravery during flood rescue operation in Sogakope

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has honoured two firefighters for their bravery and dedication during a flood rescue operation in the Sogakope area of the Volta Region in July 2026. LFM Sene Famous, stationed at the Sogakope Fire Station, and FM Yao Addo Kumi from the Adidome Fire Station, were commended for their efforts in rescuing and supporting affected residents.

The GNFS issued a statement through its Public Relations Officer for the Volta Region, stating that the officers were presented with various items as a token of appreciation for their commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the emergency. The recognition aimed to highlight the courage and commitment of firefighters who often operate under challenging and dangerous circumstances to respond to emergencies and protect communities.
