Ghana–Yorkshire Trade & Investment Summit brings enterprise, culture and community together in Bradford

In September 2026, the University of Bradford served as a gathering point for Ghana and Yorkshire, uniting business, academia, government, traditional leaders, entrepreneurs, culture, and creativity within its walls. The Ghana–Yorkshire Trade & Investment Summit, organized by Nana A. O. Hagan of SHOFT CIC, attracted a diverse crowd of attendees through the expertise and inclusivity of both the University of Bradford’s School of Management and the Ghana Scholarly Society (GSS).

The summit aimed to bolster trade and investment between the two regions, with a focus on innovation and sustainable growth. The event brought together notable figures, such as the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Chris Herd, and former Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Abigail Marshall Katung. Other distinguished guests included Dr Manoj Joshi MBE, representing the Lord Lieutenant; Professor Uduak Archibong MBE, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Bradford; and Ghana’s Deputy High Commissioner, Hon.

Aquinas Quansah. Keynote speakers covered topics like finance, investment, international relations, and economic development, including Hon. Dr Stephen Amoah and Hon. Daniel Nana Addo Kenneth. The University of Bradford’s School of Management contributed academic insights through Dr Kweku Adams, Dr Samuel Kusi, Dr Boakye Boampong, Professor Richard Nyuur, and Professor Yvonne Moogan.

This collaboration between academia and traditional leadership underscored the summit's commitment to fostering meaningful connections and dialogue between the two communities.
