Get details, communicate govt’s position effectively, PM Modi tells ministers

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of understanding facts and effectively conveying them during a two-day Chintan Shivir. The leaders were urged to delve into issues thoroughly and present the government's stance to combat negative narratives. The PM highlighted the need for ministers to be well-informed about the subjects and prepared to counter opposing narratives with solid evidence and details, as reported by TOI.

During the brainstorming session, ministers were tasked with identifying challenges, exposing the shortcomings, and devising action plans for government schemes to guarantee their intended impact within the allotted period, for the benefit of the beneficiaries. Detailed presentations were made on subjects such as personal growth alongside the betterment of departmental functioning and "Jan Vishwas se Jan Aadhaar" (trust-based governance to garner popular support).

The session, paused for four years, is being considered a mid-term assessment to evaluate performance and devise strategies for enhancing the overall efficiency of ministers and ministries. Modi urged ministers to interact with officials across all levels, pointing out that a failure to do so had come to his attention. He emphasized the necessity of interacting with officials at lower levels for improved performance.

Moreover, the PM requested ministers to ensure the successful rollout of approximately 40-45 major welfare schemes and effectively communicate their benefits to the intended beneficiaries.
