Echo the dolphin, transferred from Marineland to aquarium in Spain, has died

Four beluga whales and one dolphin that were moved out of Marineland this summer have since perished at their new residences. Beethoven, a beluga previously housed at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, unfortunately succumbed to his move. Below is the complete roster of the animals who passed away:

PEEKAHCU, a 23-year-old female beluga initially captured in Russian waters and sent to Marineland in 2003, was transferred to the Shedd Aquarium on August 12, 2026, and unfortunately passed away on August 25, 2026.

RAIN, another female beluga aged 20, who was also caught in Russian waters and brought to Marineland in 2006, was relocated to the Shedd Aquarium on the same date as PEEKACHU, August 12, 2026. She, too, met her end on September 2, 2026.

JELLY BEAN, a 19-year-old female beluga born at Marineland in 2007, was shipped to Oceanografic Valencia, located in Spain, on August 26, 2026. She sadly breathed her last on September 18, 2026.

OSIRIS, a 26-year-old female beluga captured in Russian waters and brought to Marineland in 2001, was moved to the Shedd Aquarium on July 20, 2026. She unfortunately expired on September 21, 2026.

Lastly, ECHO, a female dolphin believed to be around 30 years old, was captured in the Black Sea and sent to Marineland around 2000. She was transferred to Oceanografic Valencia on August 26, 2026, but met her demise on September 23, 2026.
