Acting veteran Domhnall Gleeson has expressed regret over not being able to explore the true bitterness that lies within his Star Wars character General Hux. This revelation comes after the twist in *Rise of Skywalker* unexpectedly ended Hux's story in a surprising and abrupt manner.

Hux's journey in the *Star Wars* sequel trilogy spans from being a subordinate of Kylo Ren to a secret spy for the Rebels. Despite his significant screen time, Hux's demise was swift and unexpected, much like other characters in *Episode 9: Rise of Skywalker*. Gleeson candidly shared his desire to delve deeper into Hux's internal conflict, suggesting that it would have been meaningful to portray the quiet moments of his bitterness rather than relying on performative displays.

He compared Hux's situation to that of a kicked dog, whose aggression often escalates in its final moments.

Gleeson's portrayal of Hux's final confrontation with Kylo Ren was noted as one of the easier scenes for him, as he fully embraced the character's dramatic turn. However, the brief exchanges between Hux and Kylo Ren in the corridors required improvisation to balance the intensity of their relationship.
