Dolly Parton’s estate rocked by feud as manager accuses nephew of ‘retribution’ threats, seeks restraining order

In a bitter dispute over Dolly Parton's estate, the manager of the late country music icon has accused her nephew of making violent threats, prompting a request for a restraining order. Danny Nozell, Parton's long-time manager, filed the legal request against Bryan Seaver, alleging the latter was orchestrating a campaign of extortion to acquire funds from the sprawling empire, which encompasses an amusement park, a hotel, and an upcoming museum.

Seaver, who had previously covered Parton's death in an emotional video, was unexpectedly dismissed last week, leading him to criticize Nozell's actions. Court documents filed on Tuesday claim that Seaver's dismay escalated into threats, with one text message warning he would become "the hand of retribution for my entire family."

The organization overseeing Parton's affairs, run by Nozell, filed the restraining order request in Nashville, Parton's hometown. If the order is granted, Seaver would be prohibited from approaching company properties and engaging with staff and business associates. Seaver, who describes himself as a military contractor and international arms dealer, claims he is conducting his own investigation into the management of his aunt's affairs at the time of her passing.

He dismisses the allegations as a fabricated explanation aimed at establishing him as opposition to Parton's legacy. Dolly Parton's death at 80 prompted global mourning, with President Donald Trump ordering flags to be flown at half-staff. She was celebrated for her vast musical discography, including hits like "9 to 5" and "Jolene," as well as her philanthropic efforts, such as a program to assist children in learning to read.

Parton's business empire, valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, includes the 40-year-old Dollywood theme park in Tennessee, drawing around four million visitors annually and employing 4,000 individuals.
