Cubs clinch 2nd straight playoffs trip by beating Marlins 2-1 as Crow-Armstrong joins 40-40 club

Chicago Cubs secured their second consecutive playoff berth by defeating the Miami Marlins 2-1 on Thursday. Pete Crow-Armstrong joined the 40-40 club, both in terms of home runs and stolen bases. Crow-Armstrong stole his 40th base during the game, alongside his 45th career home run. The Cubs became one of the three NL wild card teams, making it their first back-to-back postseason appearances since 2015-18.

Miami Marlins, who were aiming for their third straight non-winning season, were unable to prevent the Cubs' advancement.
