Coco Gauff will be a player-owner for the Florida franchise in the new season of World Team Tennis

Coco Gauff, the world's number four-ranked tennis player, has announced she will be a player and owner of the World Team Tennis (WTT) Florida Flamingos. Gauff, who resides in Delray Beach, will participate in home matches at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise on December 14 and 15. Gauff, who has won two Grand Slam tournaments, expressed her excitement about playing competitively as part of a team and for her family and fans in South Florida.

The Flamingos will join three other new teams in the relaunched WTT, which is co-founded by Billie Jean King. The mixed-gender professional team tennis league will feature a unique schedule with four singles sets and a mixed doubles Super-tiebreaker, with men and women contributing equally in every match. The WTT will broadcast all six matches exclusively on CNBC in primetime, with live free streaming coverage provided by Fandango.
