Caleb Flynn trial: 'Mistress' Alleigha Botner delivers ‘ways to kill her’ testimony before Ashley death

Former "American Idol" contestant Caleb Flynn's ex-mistress, Alleigha Botner, testified that she received a demand from Flynn to leave his wife weeks before Ashley Flynn's murder. Botner, who had been involved with Flynn for about a year and a half, stated that his comments about Ashley's death increased before her death. She alleged that Flynn repeatedly expressed a desire for Ashley's demise and later confessed to her that he was "thinking about ways to kill her."

Flynn is currently charged with the killing of Ashley inside their home in Tipp City, Ohio, on February 16, 2026. Botner testified that Flynn's comments about Ashley changed over time, with phrases like "I want her dead" and "I would kill her if I could go to jail" surfacing multiple times during their relationship. Prosecutors also presented messages allegedly exchanged between Flynn and Botner, including a February 2025 message that read, "I need her to die, to cheat again, to leave."

According to testimony, Flynn's relationship with Botner began in 2024 and became a serious secret relationship over time. Botner claimed that Flynn told her he hated Ashley and referred to her as more like a "roommate." By January, she said she was "tired of waiting" for Flynn to leave his marriage and gave him an ultimatum on January 11.

Flynn allegedly responded by stating he would file for divorce from Ashley and leave her. However, Ashley was killed the following day. When Botner learned of Ashley's death from another church member, she questioned Flynn about his involvement and sent a message that she later deleted to avoid implicating herself in the investigation.

Botner admitted to initially lying to the FBI about their relationship after Ashley's murder, stating that she feared the damage to her reputation and job. She now hates Flynn, asserting that she believes he murdered his wife.
