Brazil and Australia meet in double-header to start rebuilds

Brazil and Australia will face off in a double-header of friendly matches to kickstart their respective rebuilding processes following the World Cup tournament. The matches are set to take place in Townsville and Brisbane, marking both nations' first outings since their respective campaigns in the World Cup ended in July. Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil and Tony Popovic's Australia will field squads consisting of players from the World Cup squads, with a few new additions.

Australia's coach, Tony Popovic, has omitted veteran goalkeeper and captain Mat Ryan, and striker Cristian Volpato, who tested positive for cocaine.
