Bolsonaro biopic sponsor said to have received organized crime funds

Brazil's Finance Minister Dario Durigan revealed on Thursday that Antônio Carlos Freixo Júnior, also known as "Mineiro," the owner of Entre Investimentos, received funds from organized crime. The company holds a stake in Dark Horse, a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro, which was funded by Banco Master, owned by Daniel Vorcaro. This marks the third phase of Operation Carbono Oculto, launched by São Paulo prosecutors and the Federal Revenue Service.

Durigan stated that the management company of the Entre Group received money from both Banco Master and organized crime, all eventually ending up in the same pool. He emphasized that the funds used for liquidity in these operations originated from the same entity. According to Durigan, the money received by Entre was utilized for money laundering and bribery purposes.

The minister explained that the same fund, which accepted contributions from various sources like Banco Master, organized crime, and individuals who had entered plea agreements with the São Paulo Prosecution Service or the Federal Prosecution Service, was at the center of the investigation. Freixo Júnior had previously entered into a plea bargain agreement with the Prosecutor-General's Office concerning the Banco Master scandal.
