Body of missing Anambra schoolboy recovered

The body of six-year-old Success Ezenwafor, a pupil at UNIZIK Primary School, was recovered on Wednesday morning in Anambra State. Success had been swept away by floodwater on Tuesday when his school bus was trapped and overturned along the Nibo–Isiagu Road in Awka South Local Government Area. Nine other occupants of the vehicle, including seven children and two adults, were rescued by the Anambra State Police Command and community members and taken to Amaku Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Success' father remembered the boy kissing his father on both cheeks and boarding the shuttle bus for school before he tragically never returned home. The Ezenwafor family expressed their condolences and submitted that their son had joined the Church triumphant, announcing the plans to move his remains to their hometown, Ula, Ekwulobia.

Anambra State First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, urged residents to take precautions and remain vigilant as flooding continues to affect various communities.
