Amazon’s new plugin lets sellers manage their entire e-commerce business with AI

Amazon is rolling out new tools to simplify e-commerce management for its independent sellers, integrating artificial intelligence assistants into the platform. The company unveiled these enhancements at its annual seller conference, Accelerate. The standout feature is a plugin that enables sellers to manage their businesses using AI assistants like Anthropic PBC’s Claude and Amazon Quick.

This plugin allows tasks such as checking inventory, adjusting prices, and updating listings, all without needing to log into Seller Central. It takes only about 60 seconds for sellers to connect Claude or Quick to their seller accounts, after which they can access all their listings, inventory details, sales analytics, and performance metrics.

Sellers retain full control, approving each action before it’s executed by the AI. The plugin is currently available for U.S.-based sellers in beta, with plans for international expansion. The choice of Anthropic's Claude as the AI assistant is noteworthy, given Amazon's recent blocking of Meta’s AI agent Muse due to compliance issues.

However, Amazon sees Claude as a more viable option, possibly due to their existing strong relationship. Amazon also announced improvements to the Seller Assistant, including a new canvas feature for strategic planning and a complimentary 12-month subscription to Amazon Quick Plus for sellers who haven't yet adopted the AI tools.
