Advocate and woman clash at Karnataka High Court; cross-FIRs registered

Bengaluru police registered two cross-FIRs following an altercation between an advocate and a woman at the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday. The dispute occurred during mediation proceedings in front of Court Hall No. 35. Sulakshana Darpan, 45, accused Shravani Reddy, her mother Radha Reddy, and four to five others of hurling abusive words, pushing, and assaulting her.

Sulakshana alleged that the group threatened to kill her if she left the court premises. The police registered an FIR based on Sulakshana's complaint, charging them with criminal intimidation, intentional insult, and violation of the Karnataka Prohibition of Violence Against Advocates Act. Later, Shravani Reddy filed a counter-complaint, stating that she and her mother had gone to the high court for mediation.

She alleged that Sulakshana Darpan and her husband confronted them outside Court Hall No. 26, questioning their presence and refusing to repay money owed to them. Shravani claimed that the couple pushed, threatened to assault, and verbally abused her and her mother. The police have booked Sulakshana and her husband on charges of criminal intimidation, wrongful restraint, and intentional insult.

Authorities are currently investigating both complaints and examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
