ADC Presidential campaign: Akobundu takes charge as DG

The ADC Presidential Campaign has entered a new phase with Senator Augustine Okwudiri Akobundu taking charge as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council. Former military officer, party administrator, and serving Senator representing Abia Central, Akobundu's mandate is to coordinate the political, organisational, and operational aspects of the campaign, ensuring discipline and coherence across its various components.

With an extensive background in leadership, organisation, and public service, Senator Akobundu brings decades of experience to the role. His military career in the Nigerian Army, followed by roles as a Minister of State for Defence and party administrator, has equipped him with the strategic planning, coordination, and disciplined execution skills necessary for the task at hand.

Having served in various positions within the African Democratic Congress, including National Vice Chairman and South-East Zonal Chairman, Akobundu's expertise in political organisation and national party management will be crucial in harmonising campaign structures and coordinating stakeholders. His legislative and constituency work in Abia Central has focused on education, infrastructure, healthcare, youth empowerment, and human-capital development, highlighting his commitment to addressing critical issues across Nigeria.

As the campaign structure has been unveiled and leadership in place, Senator Akobundu's primary focus now is to convert this structure into a coordinated national campaign operation. His diverse experience as a soldier, administrator, politician, and legislator positions him perfectly to lead the Presidential Campaign Council and drive the campaign to success.
