Accelleron secures projects involving more than 100 ACCX300-L turbochargers

Accelleron has recently secured contracts for over 100 ACCX300-L low-speed turbochargers within the initial four months following its commercial release in April 2026. These projects span across the maritime sector, involving shipowners, engine builders, and shipyards from around the globe. This early market adoption of Accelleron's next-generation platform for two-stroke marine engines underscores the platform's appeal and validation of its capabilities.

Now recognized by prominent two-stroke engine designers, the ACCX300-L has been incorporated into their engine configurators. Engine builders and shipyards in China and Korea have also opted for the turbocharger in their new projects, demonstrating its global acceptance.

The ACCX300-L's success can be attributed to its lifecycle-focused design, which integrates increased power density with a service-friendly cartridge concept, data capability, and a simplified platform architecture. This design reduces the number of frame sizes from five to two, making the system more adaptable and efficient. Christoph Rofka, President of Accelleron's Medium and Low Speed Division, commented on the remarkable speed and breadth of adoption, noting that customers are increasingly focusing on long-term equipment maintenance and efficiency rather than just initial performance.

The turbocharger's cartridge concept allows operators to replace the entire rotating sub-assembly during a port visit, rather than scheduling extensive maintenance during drydock periods. This flexibility empowers operators to manage maintenance schedules more effectively, reducing downtime and optimizing component usage.

Standard Turbo Insights are included with each ACCX300-L installation, making every system data-enabled from the moment of delivery. This feature facilitates seamless integration with Accelleron's Turbo MarineCare service agreements, enabling condition-based maintenance decisions and more predictable operational costs. The platform is available in both single and twin configurations, with the latter featuring an automatic turbocharger cut-in and cut-out function.

This function optimizes the active unit's efficiency range during lower engine loads, contributing to reduced specific fuel oil consumption during slow steaming. The ACCX300-L, after completing its qualification program, was launched commercially in April 2026, with the first deliveries expected in March 2027, marking a significant advancement in the platform's commercial deployment.
