7-Year-Old Girl Dies After Getting Mauled by a Stray Dog in Hyderabad

In Hyderabad's Kohsar area, a seven-year-old girl named Abeeha Qureshi has tragically passed away after being severely attacked by a stray dog. Abeeha was returning home from a Quran lesson near Lal Quarters, close to the airport, when the incident occurred on September 5. The dog inflicted deep wounds to her head, leading to her being placed in critical condition.

She initially received treatment at Kohsar Hospital and was later transferred to Civil Hospital for surgery. Reports indicate that the injuries were so severe that a dog tooth was lodged in Abeeha's skull. Abdul Qayyum Rajput, from the Jamaat-e-Islami Kohsar Zone office, stated that Abeeha had been vaccinated and continued taking medication before falling ill.

She ultimately succumbed to her injuries at home while undergoing treatment. This incident follows the death of a six-year-old boy, Muhammad Rayan, who was also bitten by a stray dog in Latifabad on July 5. Muhammad initially recovered after completing his vaccination but later developed symptoms associated with rabies and passed away on July 31.

The two child deaths have reignited concerns among Hyderabad residents regarding the increasing presence of stray dogs and packs in residential areas.
