50skills raises $6M to scale its AI operating system for people workflows

50skills, an AI operating system for automating HR and people workflows, has secured $6 million in funding to scale its platform. The investment round was co-led by Frumtak Ventures, Swiss Post Ventures, Avant, and US family office DRD Investments. The company's AI operating system enables HR teams, automated workflows, and AI agents to collaborate on processes, automating predictable tasks while allowing AI agents to handle interpretation-based steps.

50skills' platform is designed to integrate HR workflows with existing organizational tools, streamlining administrative workloads such as onboarding, contracts, employee requests, background checks, equipment, and access. Customers using the platform have reported reduced administrative burdens and improved processing times. The company caters to major employers and public-sector organizations across Iceland, as well as expanding into the Nordics and the UK.

Kristjan Freyr Kristjansson, co-founder and CEO of 50skills, emphasizes that AI is reshaping how organizations generate value, and the company aims to make the technology accessible for HR teams. The AI operating system balances deterministic workflows with probabilistic agents and human oversight, ensuring HR teams maintain control over decisions requiring human judgment.

The new funding will be allocated towards expanding sales, marketing, and community teams, as well as further developing the AI agents that collaborate with HR teams.
