Zelenskyy Opens Sixth Crimean Platform Summit in New York, Says Restoring International Law Requires Crimea’s Return

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inaugurated the Sixth Summit of the International Crimean Platform, convened during the UN General Assembly's high-level segment in New York, according to UATV English. Zelenskyy expressed optimism that Russia will eventually be held accountable for its actions, citing the diverse group of attendees at the summit.

He emphasized the necessity of Crimea's return, along with the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the reestablishment of normal life on the peninsula, to restore international law. Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine's readiness to establish a Black Sea cargo corridor to facilitate food exports to regions reliant on such supplies.

The summit, attended by senior Ukrainian officials, is aimed at addressing the precarious situation in Crimean, systemic human rights abuses, and the peninsula's militarization, particularly affecting its youth and educational systems. Zelenskyy's remarks underscore the summit's focus on coordinated efforts to de-occupy Crimea.
