Youth delegates excited to represent Ireland at UNGA

Ireland's United Nations youth delegates, Ciara O’Brien and Adam Donovan, are thrilled to represent the concerns of young people on the global stage this week. The duo, who were appointed earlier this month, will be making their debut at the UN General Assembly in New York.

O’Brien, 21, and Donovan, 23, both from Dublin, have expressed their enthusiasm for bringing the unique perspectives of Irish youth to the UN. They emphasized that young people possess a wide range of opinions, experiences and views, which are crucial to consider in discussions on issues like climate change, gender equality and digital literacy.

For Donovan, ensuring that young voices from across Ireland are adequately represented is a top priority during his tenure as a youth delegate. He stressed the importance of remaining engaged and involved in decisions that will impact future generations.

O’Brien and Donovan will serve as youth delegates for a period of one year. They are among the 30-plus UN member states that have appointed youth delegates for this year's UNGA.
