US-Iran talks: What was discussed in Trump's 'good meeting' on the sidelines of UNGA

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump met with Iranian officials for approximately three hours. The meeting, described by Trump as "very good," was held through mediators and included Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Iranian officials presented several conditions, such as ending the war, halting US aggression, and lifting the naval blockade.

Senior Iranian officials indicated a willingness to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within a week if the US took reciprocal steps to ease military and economic pressure on Iran. Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Ghalibaf, supported the idea of continuing negotiations while the war continued. President Trump warned Iran of potential destruction if a deal was not reached quickly, suggesting he could "annihilate" Iran.
